What are Facility Evaluations Audits?

A complete facilities management program starts with a facility audit. The audit describes the structures of the asset, their characteristics, major equipment and apparent deficiencies. Its numbering, description and inventory listing are all part of the asset management program, and form the foundation for maintenance management. The audi also provides facility size and usage criteria on which operational programs (cleaning, security, fire evacuation planning, energy management, etc.) are based.

In the business sense, assets are cost centers. The management of assets in the identification and control of their cost and failure history resulting in life cycle replacement points from which business decisions are made
